Building based lighting upgrades eligibility
Building based lighting upgrades (activity 34) are undertaken in a building or structure covered under the Building Code of Australia. This includes external lighting affixed to the building or structure. For example, a building based lighting upgrade may be undertaken in an eligible:
- retail space
- undercover carpark.
To be eligible for this activity, a premises must not be a:
- new building (the program only applies to retrofits of existing buildings)
- 'scheduled activity premises' as defined in Regulation 4 of the VEET Regulations, unless it has been 'opted in' to the program as described in Regulation 28.
See the resources tab on this page for a detailed activity guide for the program requirements for creating Victoria energy efficiency certificates (VEECs) for building based lighting upgrades, together with supporting documentation which must be completed for this activity.
If you are interested in undertaking building based lighting activities you can either:
- work with an accredited person who is accredited to undertake building based lighting upgrades
- apply for accreditation or, if you are already an accredited person, apply for additional activity approval.
