On 7 April 2025, Active Utilities Retail Pty Ltd (ACN 606 139 931) applied for a licence to sell electricity under section 18 of the Electricity Industry Act 2000 (Vic).Consultation on the licence application closed on 5 May 2025. 6 May 2025 The commission has taken enforcement action against accredited business Maas Cleaning Pty Ltd (trading as Maas Green Planet) for allegedly breaching the Victorian Energy Upgrades program rules. Alleged breach Maas Green Planet allegedly breached the VEU program rules by creating non-compliant Victorian energy efficiency certificates (certificates) for household weather sealing and shower rose upgrades. The certificates were not compliant as the installer undertaking the activity:

The role of energy retailers
