On 29 January 2024, Golden Plains WF1 Pty Ltd ATF Golden Plains WF1 Unit Trust (ACN 650 490 056) applied for a licence to generate electricity for supply or sale, and to sell electricity under section 18 of the Electricity Industry Act 2000 (Vic).
Consultation on the licence application closed on 26 February 2024. We did not receive any submissions.
We granted the licence on 29 February 2024.

The Essential Services Commission has released its final decision on Southern Rural Water’s five-year pricing plan.
29 June 2023The commission has removed two lighting products listed on the Essential Services Commission’s Register of Products in product category 34C under the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target 2018 Regulations (VEET Regulations). The products are as follows:

An investigation by the Essential Services Commission has uncovered evidence of poor quality of heat pump water heater installations. These related to certificate creations in the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program by a number of businesses. These installations risked consumer safety, including by hot water pipes not being thermally insulated and water tanks not being appropriately secured.
