Every year, we publish trends in electricity and gas market offers for Victorian households and small businesses.
This data was previously released in the commission’s Victorian Energy Market Report (VEMR). The commission ceased publishing the VEMR in 2025. The commission’s reporting on the energy market is now centrally located on the Victorian Energy Market Reporting Hub.

Key findings for 2024-25
Electricity offers have been stable over the past year
- Median residential electricity offer up 1 per cent compared to 2023-24
- Median SME electricity offer down 2 per cent on 2023-24
Gas offers have risen for residential customers
- Median residential gas offer up 10 per cent compared to 2023-24
- Median SME gas offer down 0.2 per cent on 2023-24
Medium retailer offers were cheapest
- Medium retailers still setting most competitive electricity offers and now cheapest gas offers
