New reporting requirements in effect1 January 2020
The Compliance and Performance Reporting Guideline (CPRG) sets out what retailers and distributors need to report to us. To help ensure we receive the correct information, we ask regulated businesses to use reporting templates we have created.
This draft decision focuses on amending the reporting guideline to ensure that it aligns with new customer entitlements that came into effect on 1 July 2019.
We also propose administrative changes to the reporting guideline that affect both energy retailers and distribution businesses. This includes modifying existing performance indicators to promote consistency in reporting by energy businesses.
We are seeking feedback on the draft decision until 5 pm, Monday 14 October 2019. Visit Engage Victoria to make a submission.

We are asking retailers for new information to help us monitor customer entitlements that came into effect 1 July 2019
The proposed changes support the new customer entitlements that seeks to help customers access The Victorian Default Offer, an energy offer where the price is set and regulated by the commission and requiring energy retailers to offer customers with clearer and tailored information about energy products. These proposed changes will require energy retailers to report to us on their performance and how they follow the new energy rules under the new entitlements.
Clarifying existing performance indicators
Following feedback from retailers we have proposed to clarify existing indicators, to ensure consistency and clarity when retailers are submitting performance data.
This draft decision also proposes changes to reporting definition for the purpose of clarifying data expectations for certain indicators, including data relating to customer accounts and customer experiencing payment difficulty.
