Iberdrola Australia Energy Markets Pty Ltd (Iberdrola) has paid $3.4 million in penalties for failing to comply with their 2024 energy liability. Iberdrola had a certificate shortfall of 38,225 for the 2024 compliance year.

30 energy retailers had liabilities under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program in 2024, requiring them to acquire and surrender certificates created for VEU energy efficient upgrades to meet energy efficiency obligations.

Energy retailers delivered 99 per cent of the total certificate surrenders required across all energy retailers for 2024.
