Learn about requirements for products that can be installed under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, and how to use the VEU Register of Products.
Products eligible for use in the VEU program
Activities undertaken in the Victorian Energy upgrades (VEU) program must involve the installation of eligible products by accredited persons.
Eligible products
Products that meet the criteria in the program’s Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Regulations 2018 and Victorian Energy Upgrades Specifications 2018 can be installed by accredited persons under the VEU program.
The VEU Register of Products lists the products (brand and model) that can be installed under each of the program's activities. Accredited persons can install any product listed on the register with the status of ‘approved’ and create Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs) for its installation, provided they are accredited for the corresponding activity.
Please note: installing products not yet listed on the VEU Register of Products, carries the risk that VEECs for that activity cannot be created. VEECs can only be created for activities involving products which have been approved by us, and listed on the VEU Register of Products (where the activity requires installation of a product).
Products installed under project-based activities
Products installed as part of project-based activities are not required to be listed on the VEU Register of Products, except for lighting and lighting equipment, which must be listed as per the same criteria for lighting upgrade activities (activities 27, 34 and 35 (as applicable)).

Approved: The product is eligible to be installed under the VEU program. It has been assessed as meeting the minimum criteria as specified in the specifications based on the documentation submitted.
Legacy: The product has been removed from being an approved product on the VEU Register of Products. This means it cannot be installed to create VEECs under the VEU program outside the effective from/to dates listed in the register.
