Compliance and Performance Reporting Guideline

The Commission uses information provided by energy retailers to produce reports on energy retailers’ performance and their compliance with regulatory obligations.

Before 1 July 2016, energy retailers’ compliance and performance reporting obligations were set out in two separate documents: the Compliance Reporting Manual (Energy Retail Businesses) October 2014 and the Energy Retail Performance Indicators.

These two instruments have been replaced by the Interim Compliance and Performance Reporting Guideline which is effective from 1 July 2016.

The new guideline consolidates and streamlines existing instruments and enables the Commission to comply with the new statutory monitoring and reporting requirements that came into effect on 1 January 2016.

The Commission is updating the interim Compliance and Performance Reporting Guideline (interim CPRG) to formalise existing distributor reporting arrangements.

In April, we released a draft decision paper outlining the purpose and details of the proposed changes to the interim CPRG.

We invite written submissions from regulated businesses and other interested stakeholders on this draft decision before close of business 19 May 2017.
