We released an update to the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Registry system on 20 May 2026 with improvements for accredited persons, including product application renewals, new accreditation date visibility, and automatic VEEC calculations for activities 22 and 24.
VEU Registry system update: May 2026
We released an update to the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Registry system on 20 May 2026 to make the following enhancements:
- Support for product application renewals.
- Accreditation key dates are now visible for Accredited Persons.
- Automatic VEEC calculation enabled for Activities 22 and 24.
See further information about the updates below.
Product application renewals
Users can now select ‘New’ or ‘Renewal’ as the application type at the start of a product application form. For renewals, the system automatically applies a fee waiver to streamline the process.
Accredited persons – Accreditation Dates and Business Model
Accredited persons can now view key accreditation dates under their Account Details section of the VEU Registry portal, as shown in the screenshot below.
More information about the other accreditation dates and fields in the VEU Registry is provided below:
Accredited Since Date
Shows the date you were first approved as an accredited person under the VEU program.
Accreditation Expiry Date
Shows the current expiry date of your accreditation.
You may continue to be accredited even if this date has passed, provided you have submitted a valid renewal application and are awaiting a commission decision. This only applies if you submitted your application on or before the Renewal Application Due Date.
To confirm your current accreditation status, please refer to your Account Status.
Please note: An Accredited To date is recorded for each prescribed activity for internal administrative purposes and may not always align with your Accreditation Expiry date.
Renewal Application Due Date
Indicates the date your renewal application is due. This date is set 90 days before your accreditation expiry.
Business Model
This field will initially be empty, but in future will reflect the business model's outlined in your accreditation form.
Agreed Due Date
If the commission requests additional time to consider an application for accreditation or renewal, and the applicant agrees, the agreed date will appear in the Agreed Due Date field on the application record.
Please note: the ESC may decide on the application before that date, or request further extensions beyond the current Agreed Due Date if required.
If the dates above are incorrect, please contact us through the VEU Registry portal.
Automatic Victorian energy efficiency certificate (VEEC) calculations for Activities 22 and 24
VEECs will now be automatically calculated when submitting Activity 22 (high efficiency refrigerator and freezer) and Activity 24 (high efficiency television). This will give visibility of the number of VEECs that the submission will generate at the time of submitting.
