Domestic Building Insurance Premium Validation Reports

In March 2010, the Victorian Government announced that it would take over the domestic building insurance scheme to ensure builders and customers had access to adequate and affordable insurance. It announced that the new scheme would be funded by builder premiums and operated by the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA).

The Commission was asked to report biennially on the adequacy and validity of the VMIA's Domestic Building Insurance premiums.
