The Essential Services Commission welcomes the appointment of economic and social policy expert Simon Corden in the role of part-time commissioner.
In an announcement to staff and key stakeholders, commission chair Ron Ben-David confirmed that Mr Corden will fill the position recently vacated by Richard Clarke, who provided expert regulatory advice for more than five years before departing the commission in March 2019.
‘We're delighted to welcome Simon to the commission,’ Dr Ben-David said.
‘We look forward to continuing our work promoting consumer interests with the benefit of his economic and social policy expertise.’
Mr Corden’s previous roles include senior executive roles within the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, the Department of Treasury and Finance, and the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission Secretariat.
From 2011 to 2018 he was the Director, Policy, Programs and Evaluation, Management Consulting at KPMG Australia.
