Victorian energy retailers must offer the Midday Power Saver to eligible residential customers from 1 October 2026.
Customers who consume more electricity in the middle of the day may be able to save money under the offer, which provides a window of free electricity use between 11am and 2pm every day.
The Victorian Government has set the prices retailers can currently charge customers who opt in to the Midday Power Saver offer. Next year, the Essential Services Commission will set the prices to apply from 1 July 2027.

Licensed electricity retailers with 1,000 or more residential customers in Victoria must offer the Midday Power Saver to customers with a smart meter. Customers in embedded networks may also be eligible if they have a smart meter and are billed by a licensed electricity retailer.
More information about eligibility can be found here.
