Our Annual Report 2016–17 details our performance in the preceding financial year.
In 2016–17, we made significant progress in a number of projects that aim to ensure consumers have a say in how essential services are delivered, including:
- the adoption of a new regulatory model for pricing water and sewerage services in Victoria
- a review of assistance arrangements for electricity and gas customers who have difficulty paying their bills
- reviews of our water and energy retail codes to ensure regulated businesses provide appropriate support to customers experiencing family violence.
Our Victorian Energy Efficiency Target team has been preparing for a significant expansion of the scheme, and our Fair Go Rates system continued promoting collaboration between councils and ratepayers. As the economic regulator for the newly privatised Port of Melbourne, we have also been developing a regulatory framework that considers the port’s key legislative requirements.
