Taxi fares 2007-08 review

On 19 September 2007, the Minister for Public Transport directed the Commission under section 186(1) of the Transport Act 1983 to undertake an independent review of taxi-cab fares in Victoria by 30 June 2008.

On 14 January 2008 the Acting Minister for Public Transport, wrote to the Commission providing amended terms of reference for the 2007-08 taxi fare review. This required the Commission to provide an interim report to the Minister by 31 January 2008, or as soon as possible thereafter, on the impact of further and sustained increases in liquid petroleum gas (LPG) prices on taxi operators.
