In accordance with the recommendations from a review of the jurisdictional metrology procedures undertaken in 2004 by the Jurisdictional Regulators, NEMMCO established a Metrology Harmonisation Program. The program comprised the harmonisation of the jurisdictional metrology procedures for types 5, 6 and 7 metering installations, and the NEMMCO metrology procedure for types 1, 2, 3 and 4 metering installations, into one document (the NEM Metrology Procedure). NEMMCO and the AEMC have completed the consultation process on the development of this National Metrology Procedure and the associated changes to the National Electricity Rules. The AEMC published its final determination on the required Rule changes on 9 November 2006 and the new National Metrology Procedure, came into effect on 1 January 2007. As a result of these changes NEMMCO is now the national metrology coordinator, including Victoria. The Victorian Electricity Supply Industry Metrology Procedure previously published by the Commission is therefore superseded by the National Metrology Procedure as of 1 January 2007. The National Metrology Procedure and load tables for unmetered loads are available from NEMMCO’s website on the NEM Metrology Procedure page.
