The energy retail code specifies minimum retail standards for all residential electricity customers, small business electricity customers consuming less than 40 MWh/year and small business gas customers consuming less than 1000 GJ per year, including the rights and obligations of retailers and their customers with respect to billing and payment, customer information, complaints handling and disconnection for non-payment of accounts. In February 2007, the energy retail code was amended to give effect to the Commission's decision on early termination fees which was published in December 2006. The current energy retail code reflects these changes.View consultation process. On 10 October 2007, the Commission released its final decision on amendments to the energy retail code and transfer code to implement the Commission's retailer of last resort final decision and to enable the assignment of customers on estimated meter reads. Amendments to the energy retail code, provided by this final decision, will be incorporated into the energy retail code upon publication in the Government Gazette. It is intended that this will occur in October 2007.View consultation process. In October 2008, the Commission released its final decision on this review. The amendment to this Code is to implement the Commission's final decision.
