Hire Car Licence Fees Review 2004

In February 2004, the Minister for Transport requested the Essential Services Commission to investigate and report on the appropriateness of the Victorian Government's licence fee for hire cars.

The terms of reference required the Commission to report on the appropriateness of the level of the fee and consider a process for setting its level in the future. In doing so, the Commission was required to consider the impact of the fee on the industry, customers and the community in general and to consider any issues that may be specific to regional Victoria, including accessibility of services.
