The Commission has the function of auditing the water businesses’ compliance with certain obligations and regulatory requirements as well as auditing the quality of the information reported to the Commission.

The Commission issued a Guideline which sets out the framework and approach for undertaking regulatory audits of the water businesses. The Guideline aims to ensure that audits are conducted in an independent, rigorous and comparable manner while providing incentives for businesses to achieve compliance and maximise the cost effectiveness of the audits.
