The electricity distribution code regulates the provision of distribution services and connection to the distribution network by embedded generators and end users. The code prescribes standards for the quality and reliability of supply, information to customers, complaints handling and other matters. In June 2009, the Commission commenced a review of electricity distributors' communications in extreme supply events. The outcomes of this review are various amendments to the Electricity Distribution Code, which will take effect from 1 April 2010.
