Agents

Agents are parties that are registered with the Commission and have the ability to create Victorian renewable energy certificates (VRECs) on behalf of owners of small generation units (SGUs). Agents generally purchase the right to create VRECs from such owners. The right to create VRECs can only be assigned once. Agents cannot re-assign the right to create assigned VRECs to another registered person or agent. Agents generally sell the VRECs to other parties or surrender the VRECs to the Commission to offset an existing VREC liability.
