The Commission has approved separate customer service codes for the urban and rural services provided by Victoria's water businesses. The urban code applies to the three metropolitan retailers and the 13 regional water businesses from 1 July 2005. The rural code applies to the five rural businesses, Melbourne Water, Coliban Water and Wannon Water from 1 July 2007.Each business is required to: meet the customer-related standards, procedures and practices set out in the code develop, issue and comply with a customer charter that meets the requirements of the code and sets out the business’s approved service standards.
